Canva Integration – Edit and Create Images
The Canva integration lets you edit images or create entirely new designs directly from within Christiani.AI using the Canva editor – without ever leaving the platform. Finished designs are automatically saved to your Media Library and are instantly available for social media posts, LinkedIn articles, and other content.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Connect Your Canva Account
Before you can use the Canva integration, you need to link your Canva account to Christiani.AI once.
Prerequisites:
A free or paid Canva account
Your role in the Christiani.AI business account must be "Owner" or "Full Access" (members with restricted permissions cannot connect Canva)
Here's how:
Click on your name and then “Settings” in the top right corner to open your Profile.
Select the "My Profile" tab.
Scroll down to the "Canva Integration" card.
Click "Connect with Canva".
A popup window will open – log in with your Canva credentials.
Grant the requested permissions (create designs, upload assets, use templates).
Once the connection is successful, the window will close automatically.
The card now shows the status "Canva connected" with a green checkmark.
Note: If the popup doesn't open, check whether your browser is blocking popups. You'll usually find the notification in the top right of your browser's address bar. Allow the popup and try again – similar to the Social Media Profile connection process.
2. Edit Existing Images in Canva
You can open and edit images that are already in your Media Library directly in the Canva editor.
From the Media Library (Detail View)
Open the Media Library via the sidebar or the data hub.
Click on an image to open the detail view.
Click the "Edit in Canva" button.
The Canva editor opens in a popup window.
Edit your image – use Canva templates, filters, text overlays, and other features.
When you're done, click "Back to Christiani.AI" in Canva.
Your finished design is automatically exported and saved in the Media Library under the "Canva" tab.
From Image Galleries
Hover your mouse over an image in any image gallery (e.g., in the post dialog).
Click the "Edit" button (top right of the image).
The Canva editor opens in a popup.
After editing, the exported image automatically replaces the original in your selection.
Tip: This feature is especially useful for quickly adding text, your logo, or branding elements to an image while creating a social media post.
3. Create New Designs in Canva
You can also create entirely new designs directly from Christiani.AI – without uploading an image first.
From the Social Media Post Form
Go to one of the content creation tools, e.g., Social Media Posts or LinkedIn Posts.
In the images/media section, you'll find the "Create in Canva" button.
The design is automatically created in the correct dimensions for the selected platform:
Design your image in the Canva editor.
Click "Back to Christiani.AI".
Your design is automatically exported to the Media Library and inserted directly into your post.
Multi-Page Designs (Carousels)
If you create a multi-page design in Canva (e.g., for a carousel), each page is exported as a separate image to your Media Library. You can then use them as an Instagram carousel, for example – Instagram supports up to ten images per post, which are automatically published as a carousel.
Tip: Carousel posts typically achieve higher reach on both Instagram and LinkedIn. Use this feature to create multi-part content such as mini-tutorials, checklists, or before/after comparisons.
Input Parameters and Options
Best Practices for Optimal Results:
Use your brand colors (primary and secondary) consistently across all Canva designs to maintain a unified look.
Stick to the suggested platform dimensions to avoid distorted or cropped images.
Use Canva templates as a starting point and customize them with your content – this saves considerable time.
Save frequently used elements (logo, colors, fonts) in your Canva Brand Kit so you can find them quickly.

I don't see the "Connect with Canva" button.
Make sure your role in the business account is "Owner" or "Full Access". Members with restricted permissions cannot activate the Canva integration. Contact your business account owner if needed.
The popup window doesn't open.
Your browser may be blocking popups. Check the address bar for a blocked popup notification, allow popups for christiani.ai, and try again.
Where can I find my edited Canva images?
All Canva designs are saved in the Media Library under the "Canva" tab. This tab becomes visible automatically once you've exported your first design.
Can I continue editing Canva designs later?
Yes – simply click "Edit in Canva" on an image again. Note that this creates a new design in Canva. This means the original Canva design is not overwritten; instead, a new version is created.
Which image formats are supported?
Christiani.AI supports JPEG, PNG, and GIF with a maximum size of 5 MB per image. Canva exports in a compatible format by default.
Does the integration work with the free version of Canva?
Yes – the integration works with both the free and paid Canva accounts. However, with Canva Pro you'll have access to additional templates, elements, and features in the editor.
